I won’t waste your time with a disclaimer that rape is a serious subject and should be taken seriously or a warning that this movie is not to be taken at face value. Anyone who makes it past the movie poster of this film should have a good idea of what they’re in for, and if that isn’t enough to clue them in, the fact that its produced and distributed by Troma, should definitely let you know that the film firmly plants tongue in cheek.
Astron-6 is a team of film makers, many of whom starred in the film,  that directed this wonderfully crazy and super gory horror-comedy about a serial killer whose victims fit a very particular MO; they’re all fathers.
Chris Fuchman (Murdock), the Father’s Day killer, terrorized the city 30 years ago raping and killing its fathers. Now he has returned and a group of unlikely protagonists have banded together to stop him. Ahab (Brooks) was framed for murder while seeking revenge for the death of his own father. His sister, Chelsea (Groening) is working as a stripper and leading her own investigation into the whereabouts of Fuchman. Twink (Sweeney) is an underage gay prostitute who is being terrorized by the killer. Last but not least is Father Sullivan (Kennedy) who is taking over for his mentor who had studied Fuchman.
Their quest leads through a strip club, a lot of gore and deaths and eventually to Hell itself. It turns out that Fuchman is more than just a killer. He is an ages old demon, achieving perpetual reincarnation through an incestuous ritual. Spoiler alert, their journey to Hell isn’t achieved through magical rituals or doorways. They have to get there the old fashioned way.
Silliness and shock aside, the movie is cleverly written. The characters are so odd, and the dialogue is funny. The gore is top notch and the juxtaposition of humor and ultraviolence (and lots of boobs) makes it a fun experience.
Anyone seeking serious horror ,or for that matter something done with good taste, best do an about face and walk the other way. But if you want humor, gore and sex combined in a really creative way (think GWAR with higher production values) then Father’s Day is well worth your time and money.

This shot pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the film.
